“This is a powerhouse cast. As a trio they will be incandescent.”

An all-women powerhouse cast and crew come together from across Aotearoa for the NZ premiere of a West End smash-hit Di and Viv and Rose - a celebration of female friendship across four decades. This sharp, relatable story is centred around three diverse and loveable women, following them as they grow together and drift apart through big events and little moments in life.
Intelligently written, the play envelops the viewer with political retrospect, emotional dramatic shifts, and plenty of antics, set to an iconic 80’s soundtrack. A gorgeous and affecting mix of nostalgia with gut-punching honesty. |
This NZ production stars real-life friends and tenacious theatre-makers Jodie Dorday (Auckland Theatre Company’s Billy Elliot The Musical, Filthy Business), Lara Macgregor (Circa Theatre’s Burn Her, feature film This Town), and Julie Edwards (50+ Fortune Theatre productions). Trained dancer Dorday credits childhood friend and Toi Whakaari graduate Julie with her start in acting when she cast her in Too Much Punch for Judy – a touring docudrama for schools that raised awareness of drink-driving in the late 80s.
Now after 40 years of friendship the pair finally share the stage for the first time in their extensive careers. |
